plagiarism

Please join Phi Theta Kappa, the Library and the Learning Commons for a panel discussion on Tuesday, December 4th at 2pm in SSC 2201.

Featured panelists include faculty members John Parish (History), Linda Elaine (English), Christine Kickels (Library), and Ken Gray (Psychology) as well as Writing Center tutor Elyse Neri, PTK President Jeremy Bernas and other COD students.

This one hour session will provide a unique opportunity to talk about the misunderstood and sometimes controversial topic of plagiarism at College of DuPage.  How can students avoid plagiarism? What are instructors’ responses to plagiarism? How widespread is plagiarism at COD?

The Library and the Learning Commons will also be offering workshops, drop-in sessions and Facebook tips all week long. Attend the SOS webinar “How to Avoid Plagiarism,” make an appointment with a tutor in the Writing Center or drop into a Library classroom for help from librarians and tutors! Look for this full schedule soon on the Library’s website and Facebook page.

Looking for a textbook? Two things to do.

Thursday, June 3rd, 2010

isbn imageIn these first weeks of class, you may wonder if the Library has your textbook. You can always search by title, but an easier way and more accurate way is to use the ISBN (International Standard Book Number).

ISBN’s are usually a 13 digit number found on the back of the book. Some faculty include them on the syllabus as well.

Want to see if the Library has your book? Try our ISBN search . No spaces or dashes needed.

Have a great summer term!
